About Me
Ahoj! My name is Vojta.
I am a developer with a background in computer science, passionate about creating immersive and playful experiences that engage all the senses — visual, auditory, and interactive. My curiosity drives me to continuously learn new skills and embrace the challenge of navigating unknown paths to achieve meaningful goals. This spirit led me to focus my PhD research on crafting collaborative virtual reality environments for education.
I thrive in teams where I can take responsibility not only for the projects we build but also for supporting and guiding the people involved. While I enjoy programming and creating independently, I have found that my best work emerges through teamwork and shared vision.
Extroverted by nature, I love spending time with people, organizing community events, dancing, composing music, and exploring new activities like sports and cuisines. I am always open to collaborating on meaningful projects that align with my expertise and passions.
Feel free to reach out! I will do my best.
Projects
An interactive installation created for the Brno Bold 2024 conference, combining motion tracking and generative visuals to engage visitors in a dynamic art experience.
eDIVE is an extensible VR software platform for developing collaborative immersive educational experiences. Built in Unity and created as part of the EduInCIVE project, it empowers developers to design and deliver multi-user VR learning scenarios with custom features for teachers, students, and researchers.
Working on adding more projects to my portfolio. Stay tuned for updates!
Experience
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at the Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University, conducting research on developing interactive experiences for education in collaborative immersive virtual environments. I am a member of two research groups: Visualization Laboratory and Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory.
Education
- Ph.D. in Computer Science — expected completion early 2026
- Doctor of Natural Sciences (RNDr.) in Visual Informatics — completed 2022 Thesis: Education in Collaborative Immersive Virtual Reality
- Master’s Degree (Mgr.) in Applied Informatics — completed 2019 Thesis: Video Recording of Molecular Structures in Virtual Reality
- Bachelor’s Degree (Bc.) in Applied Informatics, specialization in Bioinformatics — completed 2017 Thesis: Optimisation of the Parasim Tool for Robustness Analysis of Dynamical Systems
I began cooperating with University College Dublin (UCD) remotely through the Brno Squared Emcify project. Thanks to that collaboration, I was able to undertake a research internship there during my PhD studies in early 2023, which led to further joint work.
From July 2023 to November 2024, I worked at UCD on the Craft My Street project, funded by the Science Foundation Ireland OurTech Challenge (Grant Number 22/NCF/OT/11150). My role involved developing technical solutions for Minecraft and supervising students who were creating other geogames using React, Godot, and Minecraft.
After the project concluded, I continued collaborating with UCD on other initiatives during 2025, such as the GeoGame.
I worked at the Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University, on the TAČR project (TL03000346), focused on education in collaborative immersive virtual environments (EduInCIVE). I served as the lead developer of the eDIVE platform. During this project, I gained extensive experience in real-time networking (Mirror) and virtual reality development using the XR Interaction Toolkit.
During my studies, I worked part-time at SAP Labs in Brno as a QA Automation Engineer on the Fiori team. Fiori is a web application platform for SAP’s enterprise software, and my work focused on automated testing and ensuring high-quality user experience across its interfaces.
